2. A SOLO STAR

Kelly went on to pursue a solo career after her group destiny's child went on a hiatus.She teamed up with rapper Nelly for the worldwide hit single 'Dilemma' which earned her a Grammy award for the best rap/sung collaboration.She released her debut album 'Simply deep' after the success of dilemma

Around that time Kelly was the official face of dark and lovely.She was on several dark and lovely billboards in many countries.

3.A Comeback star

Rowland rejoined her fellow bandmates in 2004 to release their last album dubbed 'Destiny Fulfilled'.It spawned hit singles 'lose my breath', 'soldier' and 'Cater 2 u'. During their final concert (Destiny fulfilled....and lovin it!)they announced that it was the end of the road for destiny's child

4. A working star

In 2007 Kelly released her sophomore album dubbed 'Ms. Kelly'. The record showed how Kelly had transitioned into a young woman.It spawned hit singles Like this and Work. The later went on to become an international top ten hit globally.The album went on to sell over two million copies.

4 . An Independent star

In 2009 Kelly decided to go fully independent so she fired her longtime manager Mathew Knowles.She was dropped from her record label some months after ending things with Mathew.In 2010 Kelly met french dj David Guetta and recorded a song with him called When love takes over . The single become a worldwide hit topping charts in over 10 countries and earning her a second solo won grammy award

4.A Commanding star

In 2010 Kelly was signed to Universal Motown and she prepared to release her 3rd album.It was preceded by smash dance hit Commander which topped the billboard dance charts and other international charts.The album was later postponed to a 2011 release.She also teamed up again with Nelly to release Gone, a follow up to their classic hit Dilemma.

5. A MOTIVATIONAL STAR

In April 2011, Rowland released Motivation as her lead single off her often delayed third album.The Lil Wayne assisted single went on to become her most successful US single after topping the R&B/Hiphop charts for 7 weeks in a row and being eventually being certified platinum.. compelled her to release her third album Here I am

Here i am went on to become her highest charting album in the US, opening at #1 and #3 on the R&B/HipHop Charts and the Hot 100 respectively. In 2011 Rowland was signed as a judge on Popular UK series The Xfactor..The show opened with a record rating of 12 million impressions
