American Idol auditions are over and Feb.6 marked the first night of Hollywood Week. It was just the guys this week, as the women will audition next week. See who’s going on and who had their dreams shattered.

The men took the stage in front of judges Mariah CareyNicki MinajKeith Urban, and Randy Jackson, and the stress of the group auditions took their toll on the remaining contestants.

The contestants sang a capella first, hoping to get a yes from the judges.

We had to say an early goodbye to Dustin Watts and Dr. Calvin Peters, among many others. Those who did make it through went onto the hardest part of the competition — group night.

A Surprise Twist In The Competition

As cliques start to form, the producers announce there will be a twist. Nigel Lythgoe tells the contestants that the producers will be forming the groups! And there will be no trades!

The groups must choose a song from a list of 20 then learn the lyrics and choreography all in one night. The groups were rehearsing in every corner of every room — including the men's bathroom!

Go Big Or Go Home

The first group, the Mathheads, had all four guys going through after their amazing, harmonized performance!

Many of the groups tried to sing One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" but unfortunately, most of the groups forgot the lyrics and completely slaughtered the song.

One group sang a capella (everyone else sang with a band) and nailed it! Unfortunately, only 3 of the 4 guys went through.

Lazaro Arbos' group actually said he was holding them back but in the audition, Lazaro lead the team. Lazaro and Christian were sent through, while Scott and Joshua went home. The two that went home claimed that Lazaro took their spot and that they spent too much time trying to help him. Not very polite!

One of my faves, Kayden Stephenson, was unfortunately sent home! :( I’m so sad!

The group with the most conflict was Oz and it didn't go well. Frankie completely fell apart and was sent packing. He vowed to come back next year and win the competition. Mmmkay.

Tune In Tomorrow For The Solo Performances

Tomorrow, the guys will go solo — 20 will stay and 23 will go home. Who will move on in the competition? Tune in to find out!
