Marilyn Monroe Birth Certificate

The world's biggest sex symbol Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in the charity ward of the Los Angeles County Hospital.


According to biographer Fred Lawrence Guiles, her grandmother, Della Monroe Grainger, had her baptised Norma Jeane Baker by Aimee Semple McPherson. She obtained an order from the City Court of the State of New York and legally changed her name to Marilyn Monroe on February 23, 1956.

Here is what appears to be a birth certificate of Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926. The birth record was created by a local registrar on June 5, 1926, and this certified copy of that information was issued by a Health Officer & Registrar on October 24, 1955. It was photographed and then used for the 1981 article about the death of her father, Edward Mortenson, as depicted on the certificate. Mother was Gladys Monroe; Monroe was a surname that Marilyn Monroe officially used.

According to the original caption: Monroe's film studio, 20th Century Fox, stated that her father passed away when she was a baby but this certificate reveals that Edward Mortenson, who had claimed to be her father, was alive until 1981.

Marilyn Monroe Jewish

Just in case you wonder if the legendary Marilyn Monroe was Jewish, the truth is that Marilyn was Jewish.  






The world's biggest sex symbol signed up to be Jewish by choice.

To be more specific, Monroe and Arthur Miller wed in a Jewish ceremony before a small group of guests. Rabbi Robert E. Goldburg, a Reform rabbi at Congregation Mishkan Israel, presided over the ceremony. Their nuptials were celebrated at the home of Miller's literary agent, Kay Brown, in Westchester County, New York. Some 30 friends and relatives attended the hastily arranged party.

It has to be mentioned that Marilyn nominally baptised and raised as a Pentecostal Christian but before her 1956 conversion to Judaism, she laughingly rejected Jane Russell's conversion attempts during the 1953 filming of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", claiming: "Jane tried to convert me (to religion) and I tried to introduce her to Freud". 

We should keep in mind that Marilyn was not persuaded by Arthur Miller to convert to Judaism. In fact, Monroe converted to Judaism before marrying Miller.

Marilyn Monroe Nose Job

There are many rumors surrounding the legendary Marilyn Monroe, one of which is her having her nose fixed.  




Marilyn Monroe is rumored to have gone under the surgeon's knife for a rhinoplasty in 1946, when she first signed with Twentieth Centry-Fox Studios.

 
To be more exact, it is rumored that in 1950 her Hollywood agent, Johnny Hyde, arranged for her to have her nose surgically fixed. The details for the rhinoplasty are unknown. It was estimated that they removed a piece of dead cartlidge from her nose and added cartlidge to her chin.

On the other hand, there are some plastic surgeon experts who don't think the piece of dead cartlidge removed from the tip of her nose as a plastic surgery procedure, but more of a breathing hazard. 

It has to be noted that celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Norman Leaf of Beverly Hills, who has 35 years of experience with Hollywood celebrities but never operated on her, talked about Marilyn Monroe's nose job and chin implant in his new book: "Are Those Real? True Tales of Plastic Surgery from Beverly Hills":  "Though Monroe was never his patient, Leaf inherited her surgical chart from his former partner, Michael Gurdin, a prominent plastic surgeon in Hollywood after World War II. The first entry in the chart is July 14, 1958. In handwritten notes, says Leaf, Gurdin details Monroe's 1950 chin implant surgery. Eight years later, the collagen implant had absorbed and all that remained was a tiny scar under Monroe's chin".

"There was no notation about the star's earlier nose job, but Leaf writes: "Gurdin had told me several times that he and (associate John) Pangman had also performed a tip rhinoplasty on her"- in other words, reshaping the soft cartilage", Leaf claimed.

There are others who claim that without any medical records which prove Marilyn's nose job, there is no evidence a nose job actually done.


Judging by the before and after images,  there is a significant difference in the shape of her nose, which went from bulbous to slender and her chin was more rounded.

There are many rumors surrounding the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe, one of which is her plastic surgeries.






Marilyn Monroe is said to have gone under the surgeon's knife for a nose job and chin surgery in 1946, when she first signed with Twentieth Centry-Fox Studios - this coincided with the name change and dying her hair blonde. 

In detail, it is rumored that in 1950 her Hollywood agent, Johnny Hyde, arranged for her to have her nose and chin surgically perfected. The details for the procedures are unknown. It was speculated that they removed a piece of dead cartlidge from her nose and added cartlidge to her chin. The studio people called Marilyn a "chinless wonder."

Monroe also had her teeth fixed prior to the shooting of Ladies of the Chorus in 1948. Dr. Walter Taylor, an orthodontist specializing in cosmetic surgery, perfected her front teeth, which protruded slightly. Marilyn's front teeth were straightened but we should keep in mind that dental work isn't classified as plastic surgery. 

On the other hand, there are some plastic surgeon experts who don't think the piece of dead cartlidge removed from the tip of her nose as a plastic surgery procedure, but more of a breathing hazard. There are also others who doubt Marilyn had a chin implant,  because plastic surgery like that was very uncommon in the late 1940's. 

It is rumored that Marilyn also had her hairline raised. There are no reports of breast augmentation.

Rivers was quoted as saying: "From the very first sentence I couldn't put it down. Those who insist Marilyn didn't have any kind of plastic surgery, they claim that without medical records which prove Marilyn's plastic surgery procedures, there is no evidence of  procedures actually done. 

Marilyn was told in the mid 1940's to smile differently because her top lip would raise above her teeth and gums would be noticeable.



Judging by the before and after photos,  there is a distinct difference in the shape of her nose, which went from bulbous to slender and her chin was more rounded.

Just in case you are curious about Marilyn Monroe's opinion about plastic surgery, Monroe was quoted as saying: "I want to grow old without facelifts...I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I've made. Sometimes I think it would be easier to avoid old age, to die young, but then you'd never complete your life, would you? You'd never wholly know you."

Marilyn Monroe's Recipe For Thanksgiving

If you happen to be a huge fan of the legendary Marilyn Monroe (who isn't?) and also love cooking, here is a handwritten checklist by Marilyn for the Thanksgiving Day.

In detail, Marilyn explained how she prepared a turkey dinner, with all of the extras.

For the stuffing Marilyn used to soak a french loaf in cold water and add five herbs, spices and nuts, while to prep the bird she rubbed it with salt, pepper, and butter, before cooking it in an oven set to 350 degrees.

The notes, which feature in Fragments, a collection of her letters and musings from 1943 to her death in 1962, show that Marilyn had a passion for cooking.

Monroe wrote that giblets must be "liver-heart" and stipulated that the beef must be "browned (no oil)". She even took care to specify the quantity of the produce needed.

The most important instruction of all is right at the very top, where she claimed that "no garlic" should be added to the stuffing.

But Marilyn used little fat or broth and no eggs or binder to hold it together. To make the mix right it also needs "1 handful" of grated Parmesan and an unspecified amount of "parsley".

The final meal is presented with sides of potato, canned button mushrooms and fresh green peas.

It has to be noted that Monroe has written two cookbooks in the 1950s, which were sold off  at an auction of her personal effects in 1999.

The recipe is dated around 1955 or 1956 when Marilyn was living in New York with her husband, the playwright Arthur Miller.
